If you are unsure what ECU remapping is, or would like further information on what it is or its advantages please see our What is ECU Remapping article.
For our standard remaps we do not change any hardware in your vehicle, we simply modify the existing operating parameters in the ECU's programming with optimal values for the type of tune you have selected. In many cases the maps stored in the ECU’s memory can be downloaded and written via the on-board diagnostics port (OBD) in the vehicle, normally found under the drivers side of the dashboard.
In some newer models the ECU may need to be removed from the vehicle and the casing opened in order to be able to flash updated software to it - our engineers are equipped with specialist bench flashing tools to read and write data directly from the circuit board in this case.
We operate a fully mobile remapping service in Essex, we'll come to a location of your choosing to install your remap, the only requirement is that there is a power source on site.
We develop some remap software in-house, but also have a panel of leading UK and European tuning houses that produce remap files for us under contract.
We only install remaps that have been through rigorous chassis dyno testing and where the supplier can provide documented evidence of the testing that has been completed.
The optimal remap for your application is selected from our panel of suppliers by us based on your specified requirements.
We break our standard ECU remaps down into three categories, and once you have selected your preference we will source the optimum remap for your vehicle from our panel of tuning houses.
Best Fuel Economy
By adjusting the calibration of torque limits on the engine, at lower RPM you will benefit from additional performance and improved economy.
At higher RPM the software will encourage shifting up through the gearbox, to keep the engine running in its optimal performance window.
You can expect to see up to a 10% increase in fuel economy subject to engine condition, fuel quality and driving style*
Usually referred to as a Stage 1 remap.
Designed to fully unleash your vehicle's performance potential whilst staying within safe operating limits.
Ideally used in situations where extra power and torque are desired – such as towing, optimised acceleration and power band, a wider torque window, or simply to gain more enjoyment from your vehicle.
Balanced Power & Economy
Designed to de-restrict the engine and open up the true torque and power range.
EcoPower offers a better driving experience while returning an improved fuel consumption figure.
Parameters are carefully managed to optimise best burn times and achieve optimum in-cylinder pressures.
Alongside a performance changes in your remap, we can also offer additional options for some vehicles, including but not limited to:
Vmax is the value of the electronic speed limiter in the vehicle.
As part of the remap process, the vehicle speed limiter (or Vmax) can be changed to either increase or decrease the vehicle's maximum speed.
Usually favoured by clients who build diesel track cars, as part of a remap we can delete EGR and DPF related functionality.
This service will remove specified DTC codes from the ECU to prevent the engine management light being illuminated for specific faults.
This service will remove immobiliser routines from the ECU.
We are able to offer bespoke road or rolling road dyno remaps for modified vehicles on a limited basis.
If you have a Nistune, Link, Megasquirt or Haltech ECU we may be able to help you achieve your performance goals.
We are a fully insured, VAT registered, UK limited company.
We think that you'll love the transformation that our remaps provide and as such, our standard remaps come with a 30 day no-quibble money back guarantee.
We also offer a lifetime warranty on our software - if a defect is discovered we'll put it right.
If you aren't completely satisfied with the result of your remap, bring your car to us and we'll return the software to its original settings and refund your money to the payment method you originally paid with.
We only use genuine master tools from reputable manufacturers and distributors, this ensures complete equipment reliability, enables us to create and tweak maps in house and also gives us the flexibility to source map data under contract from our panel of some of the most respected tuning houses in the country if we haven't yet developed an in-house map for your vehicle.
The majority of our competitors are using slave tools that are locked to a specific tuning house - Having master tools ensures that we can find the tune that best fits your performance, fuel economy and budget requirements.
All of our tune files are either produced in house, or under contract by one of our panel of partner companies.
Cheap clone tools and their operators are damaging both to our industry and to customers vehicles, at a purchase price of around 5% of what a genuine tool costs, this should give an indication of the relative quality of the components in these clone tools.
Individuals choosing to go down this road are also forced to use outdated, pirated and unsupported software to perform the most sensitive ECU tasks.
Couple that with potentially damaging tune files bought from anonymous sellers on eBay or shady websites with epic performance claims, tunes produced by outdated and/or cracked software or made following videos on youtube or a 'magic' spreadsheet with fixed percentage value increases for key engine parameters and all this at prices that cannot possibly take into account the required R&D to produce a stable and reliable tune.
We frequently hear horror stories about bricked ECUs and failed engines as a result of these poor practices - would you leave your vehicle in the hands of somebody prepared to take those risks?
Our automotive services are mobile only, we operate our mobile remapping service in Essex and the catchment area is displayed on the map above - if you are on the outskirts of any of the areas in the map we may still be able to help, please contact us.
